Happy Kids Academy has a well-researched, award-winning and scientifically developed preschool curriculum that focuses on the holistic development of each child through fun activities and collaborative group work. The curriculum aims to provide children with a solid academic foundation by implementing a multi-sensory integrated educational approach.
Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that young children learn best through hands-on experiences. Each day is filled with fun activities that stimulate and encourage toddlers, giving them the confidence and self-esteem to speak their first important words and make their first friends.
Our youngest Playgroup program begins as early as 2-3 years old. We have intentionally created a nurturing and creative world for the children. This is where friendships begin to develop and children gain confidence as they use their words and thoughts to communicate with others. We allow children to express themselves creatively and encourage all children to develop their unique skills and interests. We balance individual attention with group experiences, ensuring that your child uses all of their energy in productive ways.
This program is designed for the 3-4 year old age group. We fill our pre-kindergarten curriculum with hands-on projects and active play. Academically, we emphasize literacy and math skills and devote blocks of time to skill mastery. Then we spark students’ interests by adapting the curriculum and giving children opportunities to explore, investigate, hypothesize, create, and discover. In this way, they gain responsibility for their learning and practice problem solving, communication, and collaboration. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing are all areas of focus for building literacy skills so that children learn to make meaningful connections between reading and writing.
This program is designed for children ages 4-5. This program prepares children for the next level of socio-emotional development and academic, social and physical skills. The level of encouragement, learning and participation is higher. We help them read and write long and short vowels, blend, make diagrams, rhyme and understand.
The Upper Kindergarten program is designed for 5-6 year olds and prepares children for formal schooling. It develops excellent reading skills by emphasizing consonant blending. Children learn addition and subtraction using the concept of 'one less" and "one more", ascending and descending, and ordinal and cardinal numbers.
Happy Kids Academy was established in 2017. It was founded by Ms. C. Catherine, a passionate and experienced educational entrepreneur, to provide every child with a progressive preschool education that focuses on the holistic development of young people.
We recognize and value each child’s individuality and encourage them to discover their passions and interests at a young age. We recognize that children’s first experiences in the school environment will have a lasting impact on their later learning.
Our curriculum and ELPS-based methodology follow the MacMillan Education program. We have a team of trained and experienced Montessori teachers, facilitators and support staff. The vibrancy and vitality we feel at Happy Kids Academy comes from the people who are here. It is because of the diverse interests and experiences, backgrounds, cultures, religions, views and perspectives that our children, staff and families bring to the school. Each of us contributes to the richness of each other’s experiences. As we work, learn, and play together, we learn to value one another, to know and understand one another, and to learn from one another throughout our lives.
